Fort Hanuman temple is very old and well-known in Palakkad District, Kerala. People have worshipped Palakkad Fort Sri Hanuman Swamy for a long time. They come to the temple to ask for help with their problems, to feel better when they’re sad, and to bring good things to their families.
People offer special things like Vadamala, Vettilamala, and Neyvilakku (Ghee Lamp) to the temple. We love celebrating festivals because they’re part of our culture. At this temple, we celebrate festivals like Sree Rama Navami, Ramayana Masam, and Navarathri Pooja. During these times, we also have cultural programs like Music, Dance, Tholpavakoothu, Chakuarkoothu, Ottamthullal, Bhakthi prabhashanam, and more.
Ramayana Masam is a special month for Keralites, celebrated in July and August. At the temple, we read and explain the story of Ramayana, which is an epic tale. During this time, thousands of devotees of Sri Hanuman Swamy are given Kanji (Rice gruel) and Puzhukku (Vegetable dish) at the temple office complex called Kadhaleevanam, near Rappadi Open Air Auditorium on West Fort Road.
